Finding a deal on a used car can be a tedious process. However, you can save time and money if you know exactly what type of car you're looking for. You can save more money if you search for a car that was repossessed. Dealerships sell repossessed cars on their lots, but they may not tell you a car was repossessed. Your best bet is to go to an auction that deals with repossessed cars.
Go to Gov-Auctions.org (see Resources). This website helps you narrow down what kind of car you are looking for and what auctions are available in your area.
Select the model of car you are looking for from the drop-down menu. Type in your ZIP code, then click on the "Search" button.
Search the list of upcoming auctions.
Look at recently closed auctions to see what people are paying for the make and model you are searching for.
Go to eBay Motors (see Resources) and click on the "Advanced Search" option at the top of the screen.
Fill in the information that meets the criteria for the car you are searching for and add "Repossessed" as a keyword.
View used cars near you. Some descriptions will notify you that the car was repossessed.
