GT means Grand Touring. It refers to a sportier car, though it's classified as larger and more powerful than a sports car and usually has room for four people.
Examples, as listed by "Auto Spectator", include the Alfa Romeo Brera and Alfa Romeo GT, several models of the Aston Martin, and also some models of the Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Maserati--including the renowned Gran Turismo--Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Saab, Subaru, Toyota and Volvo.
The 2009 Nissan GT-R, nicknamed Godzilla, was Motor Trends Car of the Year in 2009. It was also the Automobile Magazine Car of the Year and Popular Science gave it its "Best of What's New" award.
