There are two types of interior lights on the Hyundai Tucson: the lights in the passenger's compartment and the lights in the luggage compartment. Both lights may fail for the same reasons: faulty bulbs or faulty fuses. The solution is to replace the faulty component. Both lights use S8.5/8.5 bulbs and the fuse for the interior lighting is located in the engine compartment of the Tucscon.
Turn the Tucson's engine off and open the trunk. Put on the clean gloves. Remove the cover off the lamp with a slotted screwdriver.
Reach behind the lamp assembly and disconnect the power cord. Pull the assembly out and remove the bulb from the assembly. Install a new bulb by pushing it into the assembly. Reattach the cover to the trunk. If this does not work, try replacing the fuse.
Close the trunk and open the hood. Locate the fuse-box on the driver's side, behind the battery. Remove the cover.
Pull the "Room Lp" fuse out of the fuse-box and install a new 10A fuse in its place. Reattach the cover to the fuse-box and close the hood.
