Repairing a horn on your Jeep Wrangler involves purchasing a new part from a used parts dealer or junkyard, removing the stock horn and replacing it with the new one. This type of repair involves only a few steps and can be performed without soliciting a mechanic. It's important to replace the horn as quickly as possible when you realize it's broken, because a working horn allows you to drive safely and pass state inspection.
Open and prop up the hood of your Jeep Wrangler.
Locate the horn module that came with the vehicle. It is a school bell-shaped piece near the front of the car's underhood. This piece is screwed in place with a power cable plugged into to its socket.
Remove the power cable from the horn.
Remove the screws around the perimeter of the horn holding it into place. Remove the horn from the vehicle.
Place the new horn where the old one was once secured.
Screw the new horn into place securely. Plug the power cable into the new horn and your installation is complete.
