Replacing the dash lights on a Mercury Grand Marquis involves removing the dash board to access the cluster panel. There are several lights on the cluster panel that perform a variety of functions. In order to access the lights, you will need a flat-head screwdriver and a socket wrench as there are several bolts to remove in order to take off the dash board.
Turn off the engine of the Grand Marquis and remove the keys from the ignition.
Insert the flat head screwdriver between the dash trim and the vehicle and slowly pry it off. Remove the trim from all around the dash board.
Remove the panels on each side of the steering wheel.
Uninstall the four bolts located on each side of the steering wheel and the two bolts securing the instrument panel to the Grand Marquis using a socket wrench.
Pull the instrument panel out of the vehicle, making sure to unclip the electric connector at the rear of the panel.
Pull out any of the old bulbs from the instrument panel and replace them with new bulbs.
Place the instrument panel back into the Grand Marquis, reconnect the electric connector and install the four bolts.
Reattach the trim and accompanying bolts.
