Lexus produced the 2005 RX330 with a 3.3-liter engine capable of putting out 230 horsepower and 242 foot-lbs. of torque. Offered in both two- and all-wheel drive, the RX330 could achieve a combined average of 21 miles per gallon. Replacing a rear taillight bulb within the rear door hatch constitutes the same process, regardless of which drivetrain your RX330 has.
Open the rear hatch, and remove the retainer screws at the bottom of the hatch door using a Phillips screwdriver.
Gently pry the plastic skin or panel off the rear hatch using a flat-blade screwdriver.
Remove the taillight from its housing by turning it counterclockwise.
Remove the taillight bulb from the bulb socket by hand, and replace it with the equivalent lightbulb. Do not put your fingers directly on the lightbulb lens. Use a paper towel wrapped around the bulb lens to secure it back into the lightbulb socket.
Reinstall the light into the taillight assembly by inserting it and turning it clockwise.
Reinstall the plastic panel on the rear hatch, and tamp it down with the handle of a screwdriver. Reinstall the retainer screws at the bottom of the door.
