The Lexus GS 300 luxury sedans made from 1993 through 2006 were popular cars from this Japanese manufacturer. Removing a front fender is an easy task, but be aware that the fenders are essentially part of the front bumper. To remove a front fender you will have to remove the entire bumper. However, by taking your time and paying attention to minor details, such as hidden or hard-to-reach bolts, you can accomplish this task quickly. Be sure to keep track of all screws, bolts and clips removed for easy re-installation.
Remove the fender splash shield. There should be fourteen screws, a bolt and the shield, and they all must be removed. There are two pop-off pins in the fender well, which when taken off will allow you to peel back the fender.
Remove the engine under cover. This is under the front fender and resembles a long rectangle made from black, high-density polyethylene. Remove the screws and bolts and then the cover.
Remove the bolts on top of the headlights.
Remove the headlights and disconnect the connectors. This will require a 10 mm socket wrench and perhaps an extension. Look out for the hidden screw for the bumper on each side of the car that must be removed.
Remove the hood seal and the upper bumper retainer by removing the middle screw. The grille will come off with the bumper later.
Remove the six clips to remove the bumper. Then pull the bumper slightly toward you while lifting it to unmount it. Unplug the fog lights and side markers.
Remove the reinforcement for the bumper by popping up the two clips housed under the lights.
Remove the high-beam headlights. You should be able to just pull them out.
