The interior dome lamp bulb in a Buick LeSabre is located in the center of the roof panel. It is covered by a small, translucent plastic shell that softens the glow from the dome lamp bulb. When the door is opened, the dome lamp illuminates to provide the driver with a better view of the interior in night-time conditions. The dome lamp can also be switched on manually by rotating the headlamp toggle knob counterclockwise until it stops.
Park the vehicle and apply the emergency brake. Turn off the engine and open the hood. Disconnect the negative battery terminal using the battery terminal wrench.
Pry the translucent plastic shell from the dome light housing using the flat-head screwdriver. Set it on the passenger seat.
Remove the dome lamp bulb from its socket by gently pulling it loose by hand.
Install the new dome lamp bulb into the dome lamp socket. Replace the translucent dome lamp cover.
Reconnect the negative battery terminal and verify that the dome lamp operates properly.
