The Ford Taurus is known for its durability and long-lasting performance. Because of its long life span, the Taurus might begin to break down on the interior before the exterior. The first step to replace a door panel is to remove it. Nearly any home mechanic can quickly and easily remove the door panel from a Ford Taurus.
Slide the flat-head screwdriver under the edge of the trim surrounding the perimeter of the door jam. Pop the trim from its mounting holes, and pull it off the door.
Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the mounting bolts on the interior door handle, and set the handle aside.
Locate the screws along the edges of the door panel that hold it to the door. Remove them with the Phillips screwdriver, then slide the door panel off the door.
