The Superchips Flashpaq is a device that allows a user to program the computer in his vehicle; but when the device is connected, it locks itself to the vehicle's VIN number. In order to unlock the Flashpaq and use it on a different vehicle, you need to run a system update on the software. If the Flashpaq is locked, and you are not the original owner, Superchips charges a fee to reset the device.
Browse to the Superchips website (see Resources).
Click the "Download Software" link at the top of the website. Download and install the Superchips SC software.
Click the "Register" button if you are registering the Flashpaq for the first time. If you already have an account, log into the account with your username and password.
Enter the serial number on your Flashpaq if you are registering a new account. You can find the serial number on the back of the device.
Run the update to reset the device. If you are not the original owner, the software will prompt you for a credit card for the unlocking fee.
