A Donnelly rear-view mirror is powered by your car's battery to display compass headings, map lights and a temperature display. If there are problems with the mirror, you must take it off the mount to send it in for repairs. You will then remount the repaired mirror or a replacement mirror to the windshield. Install Donnelly rear-view mirrors using a wedge mount or a camlock mount.
Hold the neck of the mirror bracket with one hand and the head of the mirror with the other.
Slide the mirror bracket into place over the mirror button on the windshield.
Move the mirror from left to right until it fits securely on the mirror button.
Insert a hex screwdriver into the hole below the mirror mount under the compass pod.
Turn the screwdriver to the right to tighten the locking screw.
Pull out the retainer spring from the mirror button on the windshield, if the spring is broken.
Insert a new spring, if needed, from the replacement installation kit.
Hold the mirror base at a 90-degree angle to the mirror button.
Set the mirror into place under the mirror button, then slide it up from the bottom to attach it.
Turn the mirror so that it sits in a horizontal position.
