Magnets are a great way to express yourself without the permanence of a sticker. However sometimes a magnet can become too hot and melt to the car, making it no better than the adhesive alternative. If a magnet melts to your car, there's no need to worry. It is easy to get it off. With just a little time, patience and a small amount of effort, you can remove melted magnets in minimal time.
Use a soft, clean, damp cloth to gently clean the area of any loose dirt or debris that might scratch the car.
Use a hair dryer to heat the magnet. It might help to park the car near an electrical outlet or use a hair dryer that is battery operated. Do not use a heat gun as this will damage the car's finish.
Lift the edge of the magnet with a plastic edge gently as it heats and becomes more pliable.
Use soapy water to spray underneath the magnet and help to lubricate. Keep pulling on the magnet until it is free.
Wash the area with the warm, soapy water and a soft, clean cloth to remove any residual.
