Ford Motor Company introduced the Taurus in 1986. The 2006 Ford Taurus was equipped with a 3.0-liter V-6, capable of producing 153-horsepower. A Flex-Fuel version of the 3.0-liter V-6 was available as an optional engine. Low brake fluid on the 2006 Taurus is usually indicative of either a leak or worn brake parts. Repetitive filling of the brake fluid reservoir is not recommended. If your brake fluid is low, you should have your entire brake system inspected by a professional.
Raise the hood of the Taurus. Locate the brake fluid reservoir, in the rear of driver's side engine compartment.
Remove the lid from the top of the reservoir. Pour brake fluid into the reservoir, until the fluid level is at the "Full" mark on the side of the reservoir.
Replace the brake fluid reservoir cap. Make sure the cap it turned clockwise as far as it can go, to ensure a proper seal.
