The Mini Cooper is a compact three-door hatchback with British engineering. Over time, the check engine light, also known as the service warning light indicator, will light up when there is a problem with the Mini Cooper`s engine. The only way to get rid of this light is to reset it. This can be done without going to a Mini dealership by simply using a Service Light Plus airbag reset tool, which can be found at most auto parts shops.
Place the tool into the Mini Cooper's data link connector, located under the vehicle's dashboard.
Turn on the Mini's ignition.
Wait for the screen on the tool to illuminate, and find "Mini" using the tool's scroll buttons, then press the "OK" button.
Find the "Mini Cooper" model using the scroll buttons and then press the "OK" button.
Scroll down to "Reset of Service Warning Light" and press "OK.".
Wait for the screen to display "Reset Ok!"
Turn off the Mini's ignition and detach the Service Light Plus airbag reset tool.
