Brake lights are vital for safety on the road. Replace your brake light bulb as soon as possible to avoid getting a fix-it ticket, costing you money and time. Mechanics charge for labor at high rates and mark up the price of the parts for something you can easily do yourself. It is a simple process to change out your Camry's light bulb with a screwdriver and can be done in about 10 minutes.
Open up the trunk to access the brake light. Remove any carpet panels out of the way.
Use a screwdriver to loosen and remove the screws holding the brake light panel in place.
Pull out the lens assembly from the back panel.
Remove the old bulb by twisting and lifting it up. Check that the electrical contact is not burned out. Place the new bulb in the socket.
Pop the lens assembly back into place. Replace the screws and tighten them with the screwdriver. Close the trunk.
