1999 Mazda 626 car owners can save money by performing some repairs on their cars themselves. Though some repairs are more difficult and need the assistance of a mechanic, others are less difficult. If a headlight goes out on your Mazda 626, you should change it immediately to maintain the safety of the vehicle.
Open the hood of the Mazda 626 and disconnect the negative battery cable. To disconnect the negative battery cable, loosen the cable clamp bolt with a 10-mm wrench and lift the cable off the battery terminal.
Pull the cover off the back of the headlight and unplug the electrical connector. The electrical connector is plugged into the back of the lightbulb.
Move the wire clip to the side and pull out the lightbulb. The wire clip is spring loaded and used to secure the bulb inside the headlight assembly.
Repeat Steps 2-3 with the opposite headlamp.
