Produced from 2006 to 2009, the Pontiac Torrent is a crossover SUV available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive. Regular upkeep and maintenance can extend the life of your Torrent. Changing a burnt-out brakelight bulb is an easy piece of maintenance you can do yourself. Regardless of the year you drive, you'll find the directions are the same.
Lift the liftgate.
Unscrew the two screws holding in the tail light assembly with a Phillips head screwdriver.
Pull the tail light assembly out sideways. For example, if you are on the driver's side, pull the assembly out to the left.
Twist the socket for the burned-out brakelight counter-clockwise and remove.
Pull the old bulb out of the socket.
Insert the new bulb into the socket.
Replace the socket back into the tail light assembly. Twist it clockwise until it is secure.
Reinstall the tail light assembly into the vehicle and secure it with the two screws.
