The GMC Sierra is a full-size pickup truck available in 1500HD, 2500HD and 3500 models. The 3500 model features dual twin rear wheels as well as a strong suspension built to tow high-weight cargo. The vehicle also features a dual fuel tank for added fuel efficiency. The first fuel tank must be filled for the vehicle to operate. The second fuel tank acts as a reserve and is used when the first tank becomes empty. The driver can also choose to use the second fuel tank instead of the first tank by pressing a switch located inside the vehicle.
Locate the first fuel tank located in the rear of the truck. The first tank is located closest to the driver's side door.
Pull back the fuel tank door. The doors must be unlocked for the fuel door to open.
Turn the fuel cap counterclockwise to remove.
Insert the fuel nozzle and begin fueling.
Remove the fuel nozzle, screw the fuel cap back in place and close the fuel tank door once the tank has been filled.
Locate the second fuel tank located in the rear of the truck. The second tank is located closest to the tailgate of the vehicle.
Pull back the fuel tank door. The doors must be unlocked for the fuel door to open.
Turn the fuel cap counterclockwise to remove.
Insert the fuel nozzle and begin fueling.
Remove the fuel nozzle, screw the fuel cap back in place and close the fuel tank door once the tank has been filled.
