The internal governor, or windshield wiper control module, is a simple computer system connected to the bar on the steering wheel that causes the windshield wipers to function.
The windshield wiper control module has two connectors. One is connected to the wiper switch on the steering wheel, while the other connects to the wiper motor. A ground wire connects the side of the module to the vehicle's engine.
The windshield wiper control module is mounted under the driver's side dashboard. It is a black module with two white, five-pin connectors plugged into it, as well as a ground wire screwed onto the side. Generally, the windshield wiper control module is secured by two screws.
To replace a windshield wiper control module, remove the old module by loosening the screws and installing the new one in the same manner. Do not forget to reconnect the ground wire.
