Turn signals are important to drivers, and when turn-signal bulbs on a 2009 Dodge Caliber burn out or aren't functioning properly, they need to be replaced. Dodge recommends that front turn-signal bulbs be replaced by the dealer, but rear turn-signal bulb replacement can be done at home to save time and money.
Open the trunk of the Caliber.
Remove the two pins from the taillight housing using a flathead screwdriver.
Remove the taillight assembly by pulling it straight out from the aperture panel. You may need to apply considerable force.
Rotate the turn-signal bulb assembly in either direction until it comes loose. Remove the turn-signal bulb assembly from the housing. Pull the burned-out bulb straight out of the socket. Push the new bulb into the socket, making sure it is secure.
Install the bulb assembly by inserting it into the housing and rotating it in either direction until it is secure.
Press the taillight housing back into the aperture panel. Press firmly to secure the housing in place.
Install the pins to secure the taillight housing by pushing the pins into the holes by hand. Use a flathead screwdriver to help secure the pins, if necessary.
Close the trunk. Test the new bulb.
