Using an oil additive can help keep your engine clean and running well for a long time. Oil additives, such as Sea Foam, may be used at every oil change or as a one-time treatment to clean a dirty or ill-maintained engine. This type of maintenance will extend the life of your vehicle and also help to cut down on the cost of repairs caused by a cruddy engine. Your car is one of the more expensive investments that you make; protect it by keeping it in top running condition.
Remove the oil filler cap from your engine. If you are not familiar with its location, refer to your owner's manual.
Use the funnel to pour Sea Foam through the oil filler cap. You will need 1 1/2 ounces for every quart of oil your car can hold.
Drive the car a minimum of 30 miles or 30 minutes. Do not exceed 100 miles.
Park the car where you will change the oil. When the car is cool enough to be worked on, perform an oil and filter change as normal.
Drive the car normally but remember that Sea Foam is a cleaner. The oil may get dirtier faster than usual. Make sure to check the oil frequently and change as necessary.
