Changing your car's oil yourself can be rewarding in several ways. It saves you money, and gives a sense of satisfaction that comes with accomplishing a task you would normally pay a professional to perform. One hassle involved in changing the oil in a 2003 Buick Century is the pesky "Change Oil Soon" light. You can reset the warning light if you've just changed your oil and want to roll back the computer's oil-change interval.
Insert the key into the ignition, and rotate it to the "Run" position without starting the engine.
Completely depress the gas pedal three times within five seconds.
Observe the "Change Oil Soon" light. If it flashes, the system is resetting.
Rotate the key to the "Off" position, and then start the engine. The oil change interval period should be reset to 100 percent.
