In 1994, Chevrolet produced the Camaro with a 3.4-liter six-cylinder and a 5.7-liter eight-cylinder engine. The 3.4-liter (3.4L) version is a fuel-injected gasoline engine. As with other engines more than a decade old, using a high-mileage or synthetic oil and oil filter helps preserve the quality of this engine's seals.
The 1994 Camaro needs 4.1 quarts of SAE 5w30 engine oil. Factory recommendations include the use of synthetic oils.
Use the WIX 51040 oil filter or other manufacturer's equivalent with this engine. The drain plug torques to 18 foot-lbs. of torque.
With older engines, using an oil additive at each oil change increases vehicle's lifespan. The recommended oil weight works well in both cold and warm weather. When removing the drain plug, always inspect the plug and gasket for damage. Replace either the plug or gasket as necessary.
