The Maintenance required light is a reminder to change your oil at the recommended interval. It is not an indication of what the quality of your oil is, just a reminder. You should perform oil changes at the required interval and not rely on this method.
Power the ignition on by pressing the power button twice and not stepping on the brake.
Put the trip meter - odometer in the normal (odometer miles) position. Turn the power button off.
Press the power button twice without touching the brake while holding down the ODO trip meter reset button for at least 5 seconds. The display will read 00000 then display your mileage and the message will be reset.
