The 2000 model year brought about a huge change in the Toyota Celica's appearance, from a rounded body to a more angular and sporty look. The 2000 Celica came in two trim levels -- GT and GTS -- with the latter featuring a more powerful engine, a standard six-speed transmission and a set of 205/55R15 V-rated tires. As an option, buyers could move up to 16-inch wheels with V-rated 205/50R16 tires. Keeping the tires at the correct air pressure optimizes fuel economy, ride comfort and handling.
On both the standard and optional tire sizes, the Celica GTS requires 32 psi of air pressure in the front and rear tires. The trunk-mounted spare tire requires 60 psi of pressure. Always adjust the tire pressure when the tires are cold -- not driven on for extended distances -- as the heat causes the internal pressure to rise, leading to inaccurate readings.
