Flaming River Battery Disconnect Switch - 4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine

Flaming River Battery Disconnect Switch - 4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine Rick Péwé Editor-in-Chief, 4Wheel & Off-Road

We like being able to turn off all electrical power to our 4x4s. This can be a problem with modern rides with clocks and computers, but our older rides can handle this sensible upgrade.

Flaming River Battery Disconnect Switch - 4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine Flaming River is known for steering systems and components, but also for electrical goodies. The kit comes with a bracket, a switch, and mounting hardware. This is the easiest theft protection ever.

Flaming River makes a killer electrical switch to disconnect the battery from the vehicle, and it’s keyed so only you can use it. This is ideal if you want to keep your rig from being started, or even if you just want to work on the wiring without having to take off a battery cable. You can even hook your winch power to it, so no one powers the winch while unattended. They call this the Big Switch for a reason: It’s rated at 250 continuous amps, which is way more than you should ever need. It also fits most anywhere and is supereasy to install; we took more time finding tools than actually mounting it!
