Looking for a smooth custom look to your wood bed floor? These bedstrips with hidden fasteners use a completely hidden fastening system developed by Mar-K. Each strip is 11/2 inches wide, just like the original strip, and the original strength of the bed is maintained. Special bolts slide into the groove on the underside of the strip to adjust to any bolt location. These strips are precut to the correct length for your truck. Bedstrips include the correct number of hidden fasteners for your truck. You will need to purchase a bolt kit for bed to frame and side mounting, and wood with hidden mounting holes, if you want the look of a no-bolts bed. These parts are made by Mar-K in Oklahoma City.
If and when you chose Mar-K's bed wood with hidden mounting holes your bed will look something like this. The bolts around the wheelhouse and the bolts that fit through the bedside flange into the first wood board are the only bolts that'll show when using these strips. The following images will give you a good idea of just how easy it is to install. Mar-K has several different types of bedstrips with hidden fasteners, including polished stainless, unpolished stainless, steel and aluminum. The fasteners on these all work the same way. These bedstrips will work with any wood floor, Stepside or Fleetside. However, in this article we'll look at the extra steps it takes to install them into a Fleetside bed.
Each bedstrip will use special T-Bolt fasteners 11/4-inch long that are supplied with the bedstrips. These special fasteners slide into the groove on the bottom of the bedstrip. Two-inch T-Bolt fasteners are also available by request for custom applications.
