Kaboom! - Tech - Super Street Magazine

It’s no secret that the K-series engine is about the hottest thing in the Honda community since sliced bread. What was once a very complicated, expensive and time-consuming engine conversion is now a fairly painless bolt-in affair. Thanks largely to the massive aftermarket support for the conversion, just about anyone can throw a K motor into their older Honda. To illustrate just how easy it is, we’ve assembled this guide on how to swap in an Integra DC chassis (so some of these steps will differ depending on which car you own) to help you on your path to K power. We’ll be focusing on the key aspects of the swap, but remember a full step-by-step guide to the conversion in its entirety, can be found in our sister publication Project Car, also currently on-sale (issue 19).

Engine Prep
Before performing any swap it’s a good idea to take care of any maintenance or upgrades while the engine is out of the car allowing for clear access to the parts.
