The Eclipse wasn’t meant to be a street car, and we wanted to take it to the drag strip and track events whenever possible, so there wasn’t much focus on the interior or exterior of the car. But that didn’t mean we were going to leave it stock. The dirty rubber shift knob was probably infested with 16 years worth of bacteria, plus it was ugly. Fortunately, our weekly harassment of Danny Chang at S.I.X. Autoworks paid off. Digging through his pile of parts that he tries to pass off as a display case, we found a Project µ shift knob. Yeah, it’s pricier than we expected, but we’ve kept everything else below budget on this car so we figured we could splurge for a shift knob.

S.I.X. Autoworks Pedal Set - Simple Pleasures   |   1. Remove the stock shift knob.

While visiting S.I.X. Autoworks, we drove off with a set of Razo racing pedals that included a dead pedal as well. More than just for looks, these were designed to keep your foot from slipping off the pedals when you’re racing. The brake pedal even has a pad that assists those who are heel-toe braking impaired. It’s been many years since we’ve installed a pedal set, but these should be fairly easy on you and your pocket book.
