| Ace Machine Long Block - Building The Monster
We are down to crunch time as we only have a few weeks to finish our Castrol Syntec Top Shop Challenge engine build up. This engine build is one of the most fun projects that we have done in a few years. Last month we showed you the head game article were Jerry took a new set of Trick Flow heads and he took them apart because we wanted to polish them and not that the heads need to be gone through.
This month Jerry tackles the task of assembling the long block and leaving it ready for the final assembly. Some of the things that we decided to do is get the engine prepped and candy paint the block using SEM custom colors. Touches like this were being done to make sure to separate us from the rest as you know we are all about the paint and chrome. Soon people are going to know that we are also about the need for speed as our engine is going to get fully blinged out with some serious horsepower for the competition.
Jerry has been putting together this engine in stages and after allowing the paint to dry he assembled the Lunati bottom end. This Lunati billet crank was used to help the engine stay together with all of the torque that the Trick Flow heads and Comp Turbos put out. Once Jerry finished off the bottom end he also got the engine ready for the final assembly and tuning of the Castrol Syntec lowrider engine.
